Dr Winnie Tang, MH, JP is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Geography, Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Architecture at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). She is one of the local born IT entrepreneurs from Hong Kong.

In the 1990s, Dr. Tang founded Esri China (Hong Kong) Limited to develop and promote Geographic Information System (GIS) software and solutions. She is also the Founder and Honorary President of Smart City Consortium. Over the years, she has been actively advocating the use of technology and sharing her views regarding the ICT industry, eHealth, environmental conservation, entrepreneurship and smart city through her services in government and non-government organizations in Hong Kong.

In recognition of Dr Tang’s work, she has been awarded the Honorary Fellow by Lingnan University in 2020, the Distinguished Alumni by the Faculty of Science, HKU in 2009, the Ten Outstanding Young Persons by Junior Chamber International Hong Kong in 2006, the Women of Influence – Young Achiever of the Year Award by the American Chamber of Commerce in 2004 and the Ten Outstanding Young Digi Persons Selection in 2001.

Ir. Eric Chan is the Chief Public Mission Officer of the Hong Kong Cyberport. Chan is in charge of the public mission operation at Cyberport, building the ecosystem of nurturing start-ups from inspiring the next generation, through nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit, to empowering global ambition, through comprehensive entrepreneurship programmes with funding and other value-added services.

Chan has over 30 years of experience in the ICT industry, a chartered engineer, a chartered marketer, and a Fellow of Institution of Engineering & Technology (UK). Prior to joining Cyberport, Chan held various senior positions in global ICT companies including Hutchison, PCCW, Cable & Wireless HKT etc.. Chan has been active in public services, especially in education and industrial training, professional bodies, and charitable organisations. Chan is the Chairman of Knowledge Management Development Center, Chairman of Industrial Training Advisory Committee (ICT Sector) and serves on a number of advisory committees under Education Bureau and Home Affairs Bureau. He also serves on advisory boards and mentorship programs at the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Education University of Hong Kong.

Chan holds a BSc. (Hon) degree in Engineering from University of London, an MBA in Finance from Manchester Business School and received Senior Executive Education from INSEAD (France) and IESE (Spain) business schools.

Prof. Jack CHENG is the Associate Head and a Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Associate Director of GREAT Smart Cities Institute, Director of BIM Lab, and Director of RFID Center at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He obtained his PhD degree from Stanford University. His research interests include BIM, IoT, artificial intelligence (AI), construction robotics, blockchain, construction and facility management, smart and low carbon buildings, construction digitalization, and sustainable construction. He has led a number of research and development projects in the areas of smart buildings and construction. He is an author of over 250 international journal and conference publications. He is currently the Chairperson of Hong Kong Construction Industry Council (CIC) BIM Standards Task Force, the Honorary Treasurer of Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modeling (HKIBIM), a Council Member of CIC, a Director of Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC), and a Member of the BIM Committee at CIC. He is a Past President (2019-2020) of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Greater China Section and Past Chairman (2017-2021) of Autodesk Industry Advisory Board (AIAB). He is a Fellow Member of Hong Kong Institute of Civil and Building Information Management (HKICBIM), Professional Member of HKIBIM, CIC Certified BIM Manager (CCBM), and Certified Carbon Auditor Professional (CAP). He has received the Construction Industry Outstanding Person Award in 2019 and Young BIMer of the Year in 2014 from CIC, and a few research and paper awards in international conferences.
Donald Choi

Donald has worked globally as architect and developer for over 30 years. He is familiar with both public and private construction projects and believes in the power of design and technology to empower society. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Chinachem Group. He was the Managing Director of Nan Fung Development and before Nan Fung, Director of Foster and Partners and the Authorised Person – Architect for the Hong Kong International Airport Passenger Terminal (HKIA Silver Medal Winner) and many infrastructure projects at Chek Lap Kok. The airport was awarded the Top Ten Construction Projects in the World and has won numerous awards including the Best Airport in the World since opening in 1998.

Donald is active in community services. He has held multiple leadership roles in NGO and professional bodies that focus on community, design and innovation. He is the Board Chairperson of the Construction Innovation and Technology Application Centre, Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Architecture at The University of Hong Kong and also a Board member of the Business Environment Council, Hong Kong Design Centre, Hong Kong Green Building Council, Habitat of Humanity HK and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation.

Donald also serves as a Board Vice President of the Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong, Honorary Advisor of the Hong Kong PropTech Association, Advisor of Our Hong Kong Foundation, a Member of the Council for Carbon Neutrality and Sustainable Development, Land and Development Advisory Committee, the Hospital Governing Committee [HGC] of Hong Kong Eye Hospital & Kowloon Hospital and the Chairman of Sub-committee on Capital Works of the HGC of North District Hospital.

He was the Former President of Hong Kong Institute of Architects and the Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design, as well as the former Chairman of the Architects Registration Board, HKSAR.

Ar Prof Ada FUNG, BBS, is President of Hong Kong Alliance of Built Asset & Environment Information Management Associations, and Chair of Hong Kong Chapter of buildingSMART International.

Ada is a Member of the HKSAR’s Advisory Council on the Environment, Member of HKSAR’s Occupational Safety and Health Council, a Board Director of the Logistics & Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre, amongst other government appointments.

She is Honorary Professor and Distinguished Faculty Fellow of Faculty of Architecture at The University of Hong Kong, as well as Adjunct Professor of Department of Civil Engineering, University of Hong Kong, amongst other appointments in tertiary education sector.

An architect by profession, Ada Fung is the Former Deputy Director of Housing (Development & Construction) of the Hong Kong Housing Authority, overseeing all facets of public housing development representing homes for almost half of the Hong Kong population. Retired from the Housing Authority in end 2017, Ada continues her drive on sustainability and quality drive in the built asset industry.

She is Past President of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (2013 – 2014), Past Director and Board Secretary of the World Green Building Council (2018-2020), and Past Chair of Committee on BIM of the Construction Industry Council(2017-2023).

Ada Fung’s Sustainability Goals for 2023-2024 follow the buildingSMART’s vision in the full realization of the societal, environmental and economic benefits of open sharable infrastructure and building asset information into commercial and institutional processes worldwide. We aim to facilitate the active use and dissemination of open data standards enabling infrastructure and building asset data and lifecycle processes.

HUI Chi Man

Prof Eddie Hui is Chair Professor of Urban Policy and Management of the Department of Public and International Affairs in City University of Hong Kong.

Over the last 20 years or so, Prof Hui has served the community in many ways. For example, he was a member of the Long-Term Housing Strategy Steering Committee and the Real Estate Services Training Board of the Vocational Training Council. He was a member of the Building Appeal Tribunal, the Town Planning Board and its Rural and New Town Planning Committee, the Expert Panel (of Planning Department) for Hung Shui Kiu New Development Area and the Sustainability Advisory Committee of the LINK REIT. He was also a non-Executive Director of the Urban Renewal Authority, Chairman of the Property and Facility Management Division of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, Advisory Vice Chairman of China Real Estate Chamber of Commerce (Hong Kong and International), Chairman of EAA’s Practice and Examination Committee and a member of the Supervisory Board of the HK Housing Society.

Eric Or is currently the Head of Partnerships for Hong Kong Science and Technology Park. Leading the team to drive the Hong Kong I&T ecosystem through collaboration with corporate clients, channels, and system integrators.

A veteran in the IT industry, Eric has over 30 years of experience in general management, sales & Major Account Management roles.

Prior to HKSTP, Eric was Managing Director, Greater China for Jardine OneSolution (HK) Limited from Jan 2015 to Jan 2020. Eric also spent over 10 years with Atos where he served as Country Managing Director for HK & Taiwan, Regional Head of Sales for Asia Pacific. Before that, Eric also worked in IBM, EMC, HP, and NCR in various sales leadership roles.

Eric holds Bachelor of Science degree at University of Toronto.

Ir Sammy YEUNG Sau-kuen

Ir Sammy YEUNG is currently the Acting Assistant Director/2 of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, who has been serving the Government for about 30 years.

Ir YEUNG received honorary degree BEng in Building Services Engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1993, master’s degree in public administration from the University of Hong Kong in 1999 and postgraduate certificate in IT from the Open University of Hong Kong in 2005.

He is currently a Fellow member of the HKIE and the CIBSE, and has served as the Chairman of Building Services Division of the HKIE in 2022/23 session. He is familiar with the building industry and experienced in the whole building life cycle from new build construction to continuous operation and maintenance.

In recent years, he is leading the department to develop the innovative approaches on smart construction and smart building with E&M digitalization. Those include MiMEP development and application, enabling the Big Data and AI development on Building E&M for Carbon Neutrality and enhanced predictive maintenance.

Andrew Young

Ir Andrew YOUNG has over 35 years of executive experience, he was a senior executive and was the Chief Commercial Officer (2011-2017) of Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation and Director of Partnership Development (1998-2011) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Ir YOUNG is currently the Associate Director (Innovation) of Sino Group with responsibility to explore and identify the Group’s innovation and technology development and explore investment opportunities.

Ir YOUNG graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) degree and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration and Master of Business Administration. He is a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers and a Chartered Professional Engineer of the Institutions of Engineers Australia. Ir YOUNG is also an Adjunct Professor at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and The University of Hong Kong.

He serves on various committees in different universities, such as The Chinese University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong Baptist University, etc. Ir YOUNG also sits on various position in leading commerce and industry associations, including the Chairman of Hong Kong Automation Technology Council and AI & Robotics Alliance of Hong Kong, Vice Chairman of Hong Kong Medical and Healthcare Device Industries Association, and member of Construction Industry Council, etc.
